“We are just a group of friends from town who have been thinking about The Colorado Trail for a long time. We decided to plan to hike it this year and to everyone’s surprise, it actually happened. We’ve been doing great. We get up early and hike. We probably average 10-12 miles a day. We just move along and enjoy meeting people and talking. We get to camp early, we hang out. We watch wildlife. We read. We all brought our Kindles. We don’t have any liquor with us, but we do make hot tea. We are just really enjoying ourselves.
Be sure you hike the West Collegiate section. It is gobsmacking beautiful. The way they developed the trail there is amazing. We saw some goats on that section of trail, and some elk, deer. We didn’t see a bear.
It’s wonderful hiking with women. It’s easy. No drama. There is too much drama when you hike with a man.”
